ABOUT
Handwriting is something the world is slowly forgetting.
Picking up a pen and making something by hand remains one of the few acts that asks you to slow down and pay attention.
Ebru Kefeli arrived at calligraphy through a background in architecture.
She spent fifteen years as an architect and design manager, working across three continents — from the construction of a US Embassy compound in Mali to the implementation of a Mandarin Oriental resort in Turks & Caicos, alongside the offices of Piero Lissoni, David Chipperfield and Kengo Kuma.
Her work was shaped by the belief that structure and beauty are inseparable — combining architectural precision with a tactile and human approach to contemporary calligraphy and engraving.

In 2015, severe migraines forced her to step back. What began as a way to slow down gradually became a second discipline. By 2018, she had established her studio and began working on commissions and workshops.
Today, her Istanbul-based practice collaborates with luxury houses including Cartier, Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Bvlgari, delivering bespoke commissions and on-site calligraphy and engraving experiences. Her work focuses on bringing a human, crafted dimension to products and client interactions.
Alongside her studio work, she leads workshops and training sessions for brand teams and private clients — including collaborations with Chanel, The St. Regis and The Ritz-Carlton.
Her approach to calligraphy is grounded in the same principles that shaped her architectural work: structure, precision, proportion, and the understanding that refinement takes time.
